ESD generators are calibrated according to the standard IEC/EN 61000-4-2 Ed 2.0. This new Calibration Set allows the user to take measurements conforming to the new 4GHz requirement in accordance with IEC 61000-4-2 Ed. 2.0.
Measurement of individual impulse parameters is performed using a special coaxial current shunt. This has a nominal impedance of 2 Ohms. Because ESD events can be generated as high as 120A, attenuators are required to reduce the impulse-voltage level so it can be displayed on commercial oscilloscopes. An oscilloscope with minimum 2GHz bandwidth is required to properly display the ESD impulse.
The Calibration Set has been developed as a tidy unit with the cable, attenuator and measuring target required to perform IEC/EN 61000-4-2 calibrations.
The ESD Calibration Set is complete with instructions and application sheet.
